This picture was taken last year during a walk in Zürich. Their music was good (we bought 2 CDs). However, today´s story is about music made out of trash. What a music! What a difference in the lives of many people…
This inspiring movie from Paraguay is a great confirmation of this attitude – it is not our access to resources that matters, but our RESOURCEFULNESS. It is also a story of what people can accomplish when they are willing to have a positive impact on the lives of others and refuse to be stopped by poverty or lack of power.
I still find it difficult to believe that they change lives by using trash…
I want to remember to watch this movie next time when I face some limiting situation and feel tempted to think that I don´t have something that I need so I could go ahead. This inspiring story should serve me as a great reminder that despite facing “dire circumstances, if a person has initiative and is creative, then even trash can change someone´s life and the lives of others”.
This is a very entertaining talk about how happiness inspires productivity by psychologist Shawn Achor (by the way – he has won many distinguished teaching awards at Harvard University for his lectures on positive psychology at Harvard. Probably this fact does say something about the style of his teaching that we too can enjoy while watching this video).
When we think that we have to be more successful so we can be happier, that´s when we get in trouble because our brains work in the opposite order. In fact, at first we need to take care that we feel more positive, and then we will be more successful, more productive, more creative, more intelligent and more energetic. When our brain is in positive state then we are 31% more productive than when our brain is in negative or even neutral state. Something to think about… Well, better – something to act upon.
It´s Friday – it means there is more time to see something inspiring and thought provoking! We believe this video is exactly that.
